Story
Friends and family,
Not long after Navy’s funeral Alli told me she wanted to donate jewelry from her business to the hospital for the moms who also had lost babies. In her most difficult and trying moments she looked outward to help others who were going through similar losses. It was her way of honoring Navy and giving back after having received so much love and support from strangers. Because of her I knew I wanted to do something to honor Navy and give back in my own way.
Talking with one of my best friends about this he mentioned the Spartan races and that he could potentially even race with me. Looking further into the Spartan races I found out that they facilitate fundraisers for the racers because they know that for some reason people like to run races for causes that are special to them. So we signed up and started training!
When our daughter Navy was conceived she had developed a condition known as Turner’s syndrome. Turner’s syndrome is only found in baby girls who are missing an X chromosome. If born they can live normal happy lives, they’re just usually really petite and may not be able to have kids. However, it only has a survival rate of 1-2% and there’s next to no research done to help increase those odds. There were multiple other complications that arose during the pregnancy due to the Turner’s Syndrome that decreased her odds even more. That’s why I’m racing for the Turner’s Syndrome Society of the United States.
Any and all donations you guys make are hugely appreciated, and heck even just taking the time to read this is greatly appreciated. All proceeds will be donated directly to the Turner’s Syndrome Society.
