Story
Hi all!
Allow me to introduce myself a bit. My name is Gerardo Diaz, I'm 24 years old, and I'm raising money for suicide awareness. I myself battled depression head on for many years. But after a long and treacherous journey of self love, I have finally found myself today in a space where I can comfortably say I won.
I started running in the later half of 2023. I come from no running background and was not a huge fan of running. That was until I found Spartan and became part of this welcoming community that pushes me to new limits. It was through Spartan that I realized I'm unbreakable.
This year I will be running competition heats and taking part in the Spartan Trifecta World Championship in Greece this November. The event will span 3 days from the 1st to the 3rd, and I will be running on each day. I am not someone striving for 1st place. I am someone who is running to represent and honor those that we have lost, for those still fighting their battle, and for myself to prove I am stronger than I once was.

My goal is to raise money leading up to the Trifecta World Championship, and to donate to the charity SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education)
Their mission is to prevent suicide through education, training, and peer support programs and serve as a resource for those touched by suicide.
The orginization also offers bereavement resources to those who have lost a loved one to suicide.
