Helloooo Friends!

I am currently in the process of completing a Spartan Trifecta! The Trifecta is a series of 3 races - a 5K, 10K and 21K with obstacles along the way. I ran the 10K course at Mountain Creek in Vernon NJ last month and will be doing the 21K at Killington Mountain on September 14 (next weekend woo!!!)

I am mentally and physically pushing myself to the limit, both in training and on race day to help make a difference for a cause that's close to my heart and worthy of this effort.

In February 2023, my mom came home with news that changed my family's world. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a slow-growing, chronic cancer. The disease had taken over most of her body, so in August 2023 she began immunotherapy and chemotherapy. By March 2024, scans showed that most of the cancer was gone and no longer required chemotherapy!! Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma is a chronic disease, and while we hope it will continue its inactivity, we expect this to be a lifelong journey for her and the rest of our family. My mother is the strongest person I know and a "great healer" (her words). This recovery was only possible because of the incredible medical resources we were fortunate to receive, but the journey to get there was not an easy one for her or our family.

For my Spartan Races, I am honoring the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a foundation that supports blood cancer patients and their families. I hope to give others the support we had for my mom's treatment, while also help make my mom's lifelong illness one of support and love.
