Story
Hello friends, family, and Team Brad The Rad Dad,
The Scher Family is taking part in one of the biggest challenges there is... a Spartan Race!
We will be mentally and physically pushing ourselves to the limit, both in training and on race day (which happen to be on Father's Day!), to help make a difference for a cause that's close to our hearts and so worthy of this effort.
Our family lost our dad and husband, Brad Scher, to ALS in May of 2022. Brad was an incredibly kind and loving person who lived life to its absolute fullest. He taught us how to be brave in the face of adversity, and in his honor, we will be challenging ourselves to run a Spartan race--while raising money for Target ALS, a NYC-based medical research foundation committed to the search for effective treatments for ALS.
May is ALS awareness month, and in that spirit, we are kindly asking that you please support our fundraising goals by making a secure online donation and by posting a message of support in honor of Brad. Any contribution small or large is greatly appreciated!

Target ALS is a 501(c)(3) public charity committed to the search for effective treatments for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Founded in 2013 by former New York City deputy mayor Dan Doctoroff—who lost both his father and uncle to ALS—our approach is breaking down barriers that previously inhibited research results. Our Target ALS Innovation Ecosystem has revolutionized the field by facilitating unparalleled scientific collaboration and democratizing access to critically-needed research tools. As a result, projects fueled by Target ALS have led to five clinical trials in just seven years.
