Story
Hi Friends,
I am going to do this again.. taking part in a Spartan race in part because it is good to do hard things to remind ourselves that we can. More importantly, I will be raising money for a cause that is really meaningful to me and helps the community at large in tremendous ways.
Alcohol and drug use are the leading cause of preventable death for Americans over 12 and addiction rates have increased by 17% in the last decade. Alcoholism and addiction are diseases that affect entire families and communities, not just individuals. We all have either experienced the loneliness and despair that these diseases bring first hand or because we have loved someone who is trapped in the spiral and struggling.
The Herren Project provides resources for individuals and families struggling with addiction find recovery. Recovery is possible with the right support and community.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a secure online donation. ANY contribution — small or large — is greatly appreciated! Donations made through this platform are secure and will go to charity and a tax receipt automatically issued to you.
If you would like to learn more about the Herren Project, I’d be happy to connect you with resources. If you would like to watch an inspiring movie about the founder, Chris Herren, and his battle through professional athletics and addiction, you can watch Unguarded on Netflix, Prime, AppleTV, or Roku. Thanks so much for your support!
